I’ve read some of Natalie Haynes’ fiction, but this non-fiction book tells the stories of several Greek goddesses including Hera, Demeter and the Furies.

A book exploring the lives of women at sea during the Golden Age of transatlantic travel.

A book about the experiences of the two million ‘surplus’ women faced with remaining spinsters due to the loss of so many men during the First World War.

(Kay at What? Me Read?)

The subtitle Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and the Marriage That Shook Europe tells you what it’s about!

I’ve read a few Nicolson books – including ‘Singled Out’ – and she’s always interesting. The next two of hers I have to yet read (maybe ‘next’ year?) are about the 50’s and 60’s. I have ‘Divine Might’ (unread naturally) and have enjoyed several of Haynes’ fiction and non-fiction books. She’s an automatic buy for me. ‘Maiden Voyages’ looks interesting for a few reasons. I’ll add it to my Wish List!

Something to add to the list… You might like ‘The Fishing Fleet – Husband Hunting in the Raj’ by Anne De Courcy. My review is here: https://cyberkittenspot.blogspot.com/2015/05/just-finished-reading-fishing-fleet.html

Nicolson’s books do all sound interesting. I’ll start with Singled Out and if I enjoy it I’ll try one of her others. Thanks for the reminder about The Fishing Fleet – I’ve come across it before and thought it sounded appealing, but have never got round to reading it.
