She Reads Novels 
I have read The Nonesuch and The Wolves of WIlloughby Chase. It’s going to be a fun club week!
I started Fire from Heaven, but I found Alexander a boring character because he was solely obsessed with fighting, and stopped reading. I should try again, perhaps things become more nuanced later on in the trilogy.
I’m looking forward to 1962 Club – it’s always interesting to see what people choose to read! I’ve been putting off reading Fire from Heaven as I suspected there would be a lot of focus on fighting, but I did enjoy Mary Renault’s Theseus books, so I’ll see what I think.
The Nonesuch and The Wolves of Willoughby Chase are on my list to reread for the 1962 club too.
I think they will both be popular choices for 1962 Club!
The Winter Spirits looks great, but so do they all and I haven’t read any not even The Wolves of Willoughby Chase, have fun!
Yes, The Winter Spirits does look good! I love the cover and I’ve previously enjoyed some of the authors included in it, so I’m looking forward to reading it.

I haven’t read one of these, even though they’ve been around a while. But that TBR .. it’s so long that there are no exact plans. It’s what I can get hold of that counts.
I can sympathise. This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as my TBR is concerned! I hope you enjoy whatever you read this autumn.

Like Lory I once started on Fire from Heaven, in my late teens as a matter of fact, having enjoyed The King Must Die; but I couldn’t have been in the right mood because I soon dropped it. Perhaps one to give another go. I’ve read the Aiken book a few times now so am looking out for another title or two for the #1962Club. Good luck with your plans!

Mary Renault’s books are so good. Tom Lake is a maybe for me. I’m the only living soul who wasn’t into Dutch House lol Enjoy your reading.

Looks like you’re in for a good autumn! The only one I’ve read is the Christie – not one of my top favourites, but she’s reliably enjoyable – and I also have The Fake Wife coming up.
Yes, you can always rely on Christie – even her weaker books are entertaining. I hope we both enjoy The Fake Wife!
I’m undecided whether I want to read Tom Lake – The Dutch House didn’t have the appeal of her other books for me
The Dutch House is the only Ann Patchett book I’ve read and I loved it, so I’m looking forward to reading Tom Lake. I hope you like it if you do decide to give it a try.
Hi Helen, you have some deliciously atmospheric reads lined up here! The only one I have read is The Wolves of Willoughby Chase by Joan Aiken, which is a bit of childhood favourite, but I recently re-read and still enjoyed it as an adult 🐺 I hope you enjoyed whatever you end up reading from this list.
