Although I would have preferred something by one of the other authors on my list, purely because I read another Wyndham novel just a few months ago for Spin #43, this is still a great result for me. I love Wyndham and I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one.

Funny that you got two Wyndhams so close together. I still need to read him – my recent Margaret Atwood binge has gotten me intrigued, as he’s one of her SF influences.
Yes, I would have preferred a longer gap before my next Wyndham, but I do love his books so I’m still happy with the result.
I’ve never read anything by Wyndham. I think I’ve been put off by the 1980s TV adaptation of Day of the Triffids: I didn’t watch it, but I vaguely remember some kids at my primary school going on and on about it!
I can see why that might put you off! His books are really good, though, including Day of the Triffids.

I have read it, but many, many moons ago, and would dearly love to revisit it! My memory of it is that it’s even more like reportage than Wyndham’s triffid tale. Anyway, do enjoy it – I have The Midwich Cuckoos lined up to read later this year!
I’ve enjoyed everything else I’ve read by Wyndham so I’m expecting to enjoy this one as well. The Midwich Cuckoos is probably my favourite of his so far!

I came by to read about this book. I’ve never heard of the book or the author. I’ll be interested in your review if you read/finish it [I don’t always. I DNF anything I don’t like no matter why I’m reading it lol]
I should probably DNF books more often instead of struggling to the end! Anyway, I’m hoping to enjoy this one as I enjoyed everything else I’ve read by this author.

I don’t remember ever reading this one but I did enjoy some of his other books like the Midwich Cuckoos. Might have to think of adding “Kraken” to my reading list
